I really find Lana Del Ray so incredibly beautiful. Perhaps the fact that she has totally recreated herself adds that mysterious, slightly sad beauty she portrays. She fascinates me.

I love how doll-like she looks in these beautiful shots for VOGUE Japan. Her hair is ultra cool and her lovely cat-eye make-up highlights the mystery in her eyes. I am quite a fan of her music too; it will be interesting to see how far this glam gal will go.

Ah! How wonderful does Michelle Williams look in these exquisite Annie Leibovitz photographs? They were taken for the October Issue of Vogue US, for a feature on her upcoming film, My Week With Marilyn, in which she takes on the iconic role of Marilyn Monroe. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the article, written by Adam Green, as I have always been a fan of Michelles - ever since her role as Jennifer in my childhood fav, Dawsons Creek. Of course, her love affair with the late Heath Ledger also put her right up there on my list of "Hollywood-starlets-I-would-love-to-be". I am more than excited to see this film about Marilyn Monroe and to witness the glamour and glory Michelle brings to it. 

Quoting from the article in Vogue, 

"... But the main attraction is Williams, who brings Monroe to life with heartbreaking delicacy and precision without resorting to impersonation or cliché. It’s not hard to see why the film’s director, Simon Curtis, wanted her. “Not only is she beautiful and brilliant,” he tells me, “but she brings such intellect to her work along with an intuitive grasp of character, extraordinary depth of feeling, and a kind of innate glamour—I guess we call it star quality, don’t we? For a director, it’s the dream package.”... "

So, on Monday night my darling husband treated me to a surprise movie date. Imagine my excitement when he announced that we were going to see the Glee 3D Concert Movie! I am a big fan of the show, and often leave the soundtracks on repeat some days. It was amazing! I absolutely LOVED it. There were only a handful of people in the movie theatre but lemme tell you I was busting out my dance moves and singing along to my hearts content as if I was part of the huge crowd in the movie! The 3D-ness of it all made it just that much more exciting, and my eyes didn't get sore or fuzzy once :) Standout moments were definitely Britneys rendition of Spears' "Slave" and also Santana's "Valerie". Brilliant.

And now I hear the Glee stars are to be featured in the September Issue of Vogue. Cannot wait to get my hands on that.

Wow how brilliant are these pics too? I just LOVE the floaty, dreamy-ness of it all. It's so magical and fairy-like and Caroline Tretini is so graceful. How cool is it that this shoot, for US VOGUE September 2008, featured the boys who starred in the Broadway musical, Billy Elliot?! One of the musicals on my (long) list of favourites that I simply have to see. Smiles.
